Lessons & Carols
Lessons & Carols
Sunday, November 29
9:00 & 10:45 a.m. | Oak Brook Worship Services
The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:14
Join us for the first day of Advent—a season in the church calendar set aside to prepare our hearts for the birth of Jesus. We begin with the historic tradition of Lessons and Carols. The morning brings together Scripture and congregational singing in a way that has shaped Christian worship for generations.
In our Classic service, we'll feature the Chancel Choir in Missa Carolae by James Whitbourn, a beautiful work that weaves familiar carol melodies into a setting of the traditional Mass text. We'll welcome guest organist Craig Williams from the Cadet Chapel at West Point, whose playing will help lead and support the congregation and choir throughout the morning.
In the Contemporary service, our musicians and pastoral team will weave Scripture, Christmas carols and music together, telling of Christ's coming, celebrating the truth, beauty and goodness of the season.
