Welcome to Week Eleven!

This is the last week of Confirmation Daily Devotionals! We pray that this confirmation journey has been a fruitful one for you in your faith

This week, we will touch back on some of the most important pieces of the last eleven weeks together.

While this marks the “end” of the confirmation devotionals, we hope that you can find ways to continue daily rhythms of worship, growth, and service as you move forward in faith.

Week Eleven

    Day One

PRAY: Talk to God about what worship means to you – spend time praising and worshiping Him in prayer!

READ: In your Bible, or below, read Deuteronomy 6:4–9.

Hear, O Israel: The LORD is our God, the LORD is one.
Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with
all your soul and with all your strength. These
commandments that I give you today are to be on
your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk
about them when you sit at home and when you walk
along the road, when you lie down and when you
wake up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and
bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the
doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

WRITE: In your journals, respond to the prompts below.

    1. How does this passage describe a life of worship?
    2. What does it mean that the Lord is one? How would you describe the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit?
    3. What does loving the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength look like?
    4. How can you keep worship at the forefront of your mind throughout your everyday moments?
    5. What are you still confused about with worship?

PRAY: Share with God the things that keep you from living fully into a life of worship – ask Him to help you focus more on living out worship in your life.

ENGAGE: Sometime today, spend time listening to/watching the “Touch of Heaven” video as a worship break. :)

    Day Two

PRAY: Spend some time talking to God about what spiritual growth looks like to you.

WRITE: In your journal, respond to the prompts below.

    1. What do you think growth in faith looks like?
    2. How can you know if you are growing in your faith?
    3. Where have you seen growth in your faith in the last few months?

REFLECT: Growth in faith is a constant movement to be closer to Jesus: to know Him more, to trust more, to recognize His work more often, and to find rest in your relationship with Him more frequently. In order to understand where we are in need of growth, we have to quiet ourselves to take stock of our relationship with Him.

ENGAGE: Sit quietly for five minutes, reflecting on where you are in your faith. Ask God to show you where you might need to grow.

WRITE: In your journal, respond to the prompt below.

    1. How can each of the following things be important/impactful for your faith growth:
    • Scripture
    • Church (Sunday morning services + youth group)
    • Small Groups
    • Prayer

PRAY: Talk to God about your relationship with Him – ask Him to help you continue to grow in faith.

    Day Three

PRAY: Spend some time talking to God about what serving looks like for you.

READ: In your Bible, or below, read 1 John 4:16–21.

God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have
confidence on the day of judgement: In this world we are like Jesus.
There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear
has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
We love because He first loved us. Whoever claims to love God yet hates
a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother or
sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.
And He has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also
    love their brother and sister.

WRITE: In your journal, respond to the prompts below.

    1. What does this passage tell us about "why" we should serve others?
    2. Think back on through the people you came in contact with today or this week and ask yourself the following questions:
Did you serve anyone? If so, who?
Did you allow yourself to be served? If so, how?
    3. Who specifically will you serve this week?
    4. What are the outcomes of serving others? Share as many as you can.

PRAY: Close your time today by asking God to inspire you to serve others as often as you can.

    Day Four

PRAY: Talk to God about the places you are still unsure or confused about faith – ask Him to help you process those things!

REFLECT: We pray that this journey has made you more confident in the beliefs of the Christian faith. But, we know that the life of faith often comes with confusion, doubts, and discomforts – these are normal, and quite frankly, good and healthy to wrestle through with God. Today, spend time with God sharing the things that still leave you confused or uncomfortable about what we have learned together over the last eleven weeks.

WRITE: In your journal, respond to the prompts below.

    1. As you think about who God is, what worship is, and why we worship, what questions come to mind? Who might you talk to in order to help you find answers to those questions?
    2. As you think about spiritual growth and growing together, what questions come to mind? Who might you talk to in order to help you find answers to those questions?
    3. As you think about serving others and humility in faith, what questions come to mind? Who might you talk to in order to help you find answers to those questions?

REFLECT: Always remember to bring others who have walked faith longer than you into your questions or doubts. Sometimes others can give us fresh perspectives of the things we might be struggling with in a way that helps us grow in faith through our doubts. While we may not always get the answers we need, God moves and grows us through the faith conversations that we have with others.

ENGAGE: In your journal, make a list of people or groups of people that you would be comfortable asking your questions of faith.

PRAY: Share your questions and doubts with God. Ask Him to help you have the strength to seek out answers.

    Day Five, Six & Seven

PRAY: Spend some time preparing your heart and thanking God for this journey.

READ: In your Bible, or below, read Acts 2:42–47.

They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship,
to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe
at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the
believers were together and had everything in common. They sold
property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day
they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke
bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,
praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord
added to their number daily those who were being saved.

WRITE: In your journal, respond to the prompts below.

    1. What practices did the people in the passage engage in to continue to grow their faith?
    2. Why is a regular rhythm of engaging in your relationship with God important?
    3. How have you seen your faith grow through these daily devotions?
    4. What regular rhythms of faith will you try to engage in after confirmation is over?
    5. How can you keep faith at the forefront of your mind moving forward?

PRAY: Spend a few moments talking to God about everything that He is doing in your life right now. Ask Him to help you keep faith as the most important piece of your life.
