Jesus modeled a remarkable way of living through the difficult landscape of his time. When darkness threatened to consume Him and the world at that time, His consistent response was to perform acts of love and service for others. To make sense of the world, He invited His followers to engage with the world and to learn how to reach out, listen, be present, and help meet the needs of the world around them. This same invitation is for us today. God invites us to engage with the world around us so that we can bring God’s hope and healing to others and in the process, we discover remarkable relationships that bring hope and healing to us as well. God created a world filled with brilliant souls, all who have a story to share and a life to honor. When we engage with the stories and needs of others, we enter more fully into the story of God and there we begin to find God’s solution to our question about how to heal this world. Life on mission is a way of living that engages this reality. This three-week series is designed to understand that we are all sent out on mission. God is a God who sends people out. Sent out to listen, learn, befriend, and engage others so that together, we can begin to solve the complex issues of our time and help move the world closer to God’s heart for all people to flourish and thrive.
