Confirmation is an annual experience for our students in grade 9 where they have an opportunity to deepen and proclaim their Christian faith. Confirmation is not mandatory, and students have the freedom in this program to explore the basics of the Christian faith, understand the theological traditions of their faith, and decide if they want to publicly proclaim that faith.

We believe that students learn best through personal engagement with mentors and small groups, so this program is structured to provide a small group of their peers who are guided by an adult mentor. Mentor groups will meet weekly in connection with our larger High School community (Koinonia) and will process the Confirmation curriculum together with their group. Confirmation mentors are parents and other adults who love young people and are coached and trained to have conversations about life and faith with adolescents.

Parent support and investment in Confirmation is essential and we invite every family to encourage their student in this experience. For parents to be equipped to engage with their Confirmand, there is a mandatory parent AND student meeting at 5:45–6:45 p.m. on Sunday, September 17. 

We know that family life is hectic and that wonderful activities like music, theater, dance, and sports fill our schedules. The opportunity to deepen and confirm our faith is significant and we ask that families make every effort to attend our mandatory Confirmation meetings and the Fall Retreat. Life happens so there is some flexibility, but we ask that students not miss more than two meetings throughout the Confirmation experience.

Register your student for confirmation using the link above. However, if you have already registered for Sunday/Wednesday Koinonia and indicated that your student wants to participate in Confirmation then you do not need to register again.
