Virtual Vision Trip

October 6 | 12:30–2:30 p.m.

Christ Church partners with World Relief to support their work in Burundi through the power of the local church. Join us for a Virtual Vision Trip that simulates the experience of a Global Outreach Team. We will enjoy a light assortment of tasty treats before embarking on our immersive virtual trip to Burundi!

Why Burundi?
Burundi is a place of stunning beauty and extraordinary lives, yet plagued by challenges that prevent the flourishing that God intends for His people. Since gaining independence in 1962, Burundi has witnessed widespread sporadic violence, with the most recent unrest following an attempted coup in 2015. Since then, hardship has increased for the majority of Burundi's 12 million people, most of whom earn a meager living through subsistence farming. The country continues to rank among the poorest in the world, with a current average income of just $1.05 per day. Meanwhile, 58% of children suffer from chronic malnutrition, and one out of every 10 die before the age of five from preventable disease. What's more, over 114,000 Burundians have been displaced by natural disasters, often leaving women and children more susceptible to abuse and violence. As a consequence, the country's most vulnerable populations are struggling more than ever.

Partnering with World Relief
That's why Christ Church is engaged in a special two-year partnership with World Relief, focused on equipping Christians to improve the quality of life for their community through Church Empowerment Zones, or CEZ's. World Relief's church-based community development model brings spiritual, physical, social, and mental restoration to individuals, families, and communities in ways that secular approaches cannot achieve.

We pray that you will come away from the Virtual Vision Trip with an understanding of the CEZ model...and a sense of the incredible Kingdom impact of World Relief's efforts around the globe.
