Christmas Shoebox Gifts

Deadline Extended through Christmas Spirit Village
Saturday, December 4

With eviction and foreclosure moratoriums ending, many families will struggle to pay the bills this Christmas — with little or no money left for children’s gifts.

Eager to help? Join us in filling Christmas Shoeboxes to bless God’s precious children in need! In many cases, the gift you give will be the only one a child receives this holiday.

Tailor your box for one of four age ranges: Preschool, Kindergarten through 2nd grade, 3rd through 5th grade, or Young Teen.

Daily dropoff is now available at our Oak Brook branch! Please drop off gift donations in the back of the big, white truck in the main parking lot by sliding boxes or bags beneath the rear door.

Dropoff Deadlines:
Butterfield: Wednesday, November 17
Oak Brook: Saturday, December 4

How Can I Donate a Christmas Gift Shoebox?

Step 1: Fill your shoebox (or any box or bag from home) with the following items:

  • Hat and Gloves
  • Fun Socks (1-2 pair)
  • Hairbrush, Hair Accessories
  • Toothbrush, Full Tube of Toothpaste
  • Activity Books/Puzzles
  • Hard Candy (no chocolate or nuts)
  • Books to read or a Journal
  • Small Stuffed Toys
  • Small Games or Toys (Uno, Matchbox cars, Legos, small dolls or action figures
  • Art Supplies: Crayons, Pencils, Markers, Glue Sticks
  • Sticker Books

Step 2: Detach the sheet taped to the box and cut out either the "BOY" or "GIRL" label at the bottom. Tape the label to the top of the shoebox to indicate if the gift is for a boy or a girl. If donating items without a shoebox, please include a note indicating the gender intended.

Step 3: Return your filled, unwrapped and unsealed shoeboxes to the Oak Brook campus by Saturday, December 4 so they can be sorted and prepared for wrapping. You can also drop off filled shoeboxes (or bags of items) on the back of the big white truck in the Oak Brook parking lot.

Ready to share some Christmas cheer? Consider volunteering to help wrap and pray over these boxes at our Butterfield campus through November, or at Christmas Spirit Village at our Oak Brook campus on December 4. Email us at Butterfield@ChristChurch.us for details or to sign up.
