Mid-Sized Communities

Throughout the week, Christ Church creates space for mid-size communities to gather together to deepen their relationship with Christ and encourage one another in their faith. Enjoy a large-group teaching time and in-depth, small group discussions. We hope you’ll feel welcomed, inspired and excited to get to know others that are striving to grow closer to Christ!

Women of Hope is a weekly women's community Bible study where we set aside time to worship, learn and encourage one another in the study of God's Word. Each week we meet together in a large-group setting for worship and teaching, then break into small groups for discussion and prayer. Whether you are new to your faith journey or have been studying the Bible for years, Women of Hope is a welcoming community and there's a place for you here.

Our first study in January will be The Extraordinary Power of Praise, a 6-week study of Psalms for the Anxious Heart. We can all relate to feeling anxious, but how do we step into a posture of praise in the midst of it and how can that possibly help us?  Join us as we take a deeper look at the power of praise.

Then we will begin Matchless, the Life and Love of Jesus, which will be a 7-week study through April 18.

Child care (birth to kindergarten) is available on Tuesday mornings only. There will be a link to register for child care in your confirmation email.

Our Butterfield campus group will resume on Monday, March 6 with the study Matchless, the Life and Love of Jesus.

We need your help! Interested in serving? Contact Cathy Lapinski, Women's Ministry Director.

  • MOPS: Mothers of Preschoolers

    First & Third Wednesdays* | January 18May 17, 2023
    9:15
    11:15 a.m. | Oak Brook | Fellowship Halls

Christ Church MOPS believes in the simple but revolutionary idea that remarkable things happen when moms come together. We rally women to help them become more brave, kind and honest by providing a safe and loving community to journey through motherhood. We know that mothering can be challenging at times, and so MOPS is here to create a space where moms can be themselves.

Our specialty is serving moms. Whether you are a soon-to-be mom, first-time mom or seventh-time mom, you are welcome here. Whether you are an adoptive mom, young mom, seasoned mom, foster mom, stepmom or any other type of mom, you are welcome here.

We begin meetings with a delicious spread of food to choose from and a time to chat with new and old friends. We enjoy listening to a speaker and finish our meeting by discussing the topic around our tables.

Childcare is given to children from infants to kindergarten through our MOPS Kids program. Mothers can relax and enjoy our meetings knowing the MOPS Kids program is caring for their children in the best possible way. The quality care, fun lessons and biblical teaching that MOPS Kids offers helps moms get the most out of their time in the meeting.

    An Older Adult Ministry

We invite you to join the Older Adult Ministry, a network of vibrant adults with a passion for life and a desire to live and love fully as Jesus taught us. Be a part of a fellowship that will provide support and encouragement as you continue your journey of lifelong learning.

    Thursday Mornings | 10:00–11:00 a.m. | Fellowship Halls | Oak Brook
Come early for a cup of coffee!

The Greenhouse is a weekly gathering where we set aside time to worship, learn and encourage one another in the study of God's Word with some of Christ Church pastors as well as different guest speakers from the area.  Each week we meet together in a large-group setting for worship and teaching, and lunches.  Whether you are new to your faith journey or have been studying the Bible for years, you are welcome.

    Upcoming Schedule:

January 12 - Ask the Pastor!  With Pastors: Rick Glyman, Dave Bianchin, & Eric Haskins.

January 19 - Pastor Rick will begin a four-week study on "Do All Roads Lead to Heaven?" The goal of this course is to both firm up our foundation of Biblical faith and to equip us as believers in Jesus to know how to effectively share our faith – especially with people who are adherents of religions not based on God’s revealed truth in the Bible.  Pastor Rick will touch on the beliefs of 9 major religions that draw people away from Jesus our Savior.   We will also have our monthly luncheon on January 19.

February 16 - Dr. Harry Shields will begin a study through March 23, on how "God has been in the business of calling out a people from darkness into the kingdom of his dear Son. But being a called person doesn’t always mean that we think and act like “called people.” This month's luncheon will take place on March 16.

March 30 - Mary Kay Slowikowski will be returning to Greenhouse to encourage us how to "Adopt Purposeful Living by Demonstrating Passion, Perspective & Grit."
