Developing Leaders, Lifting Women & Children, Relieveing Suffering

Kevin and Rahela Conway | Christian Educators Outreach (CEO) | Hungary

Kevin and Rahela live in Budapest, Hungary where they work to serve their community in several capacities. Kevin’s main position is training church leaders. Using his own education (a PhD from Cambridge) and his life experience in Hungary, Kevin is able to educate others about the scriptures within their own environment. This empowers local leaders to build new faith communities and develop new Christ followers. It also helps to combat “brain drain” which occurs when church leaders seek education in western countries and decide to remain there instead of returning to their communities.

While their main ministry involves equipping church leaders, Kevin and Rahela serve their community in many other ways. Some of their additional projects include:

  • Serving at the Homeless Church of Budapest where they provide material and spiritual support to the homeless
  • Hosting MOPS (Mothers of Preschool Children) in their home
  • Spiritual outreach to women throughout the community on a weekly basis
  • Leading chapel services and meetings for teenagers in local international schools
  • Serving at Missionary Kids Camps

Response to Russian invasion of Ukraine

As the war in Ukraine has forced many to flee into Hungary, Kevin and Rahela have opened their home to many refugees waiting to be resettled. Hosting these refugees has involved providing lodging, meals, counsel, fuel, funding and much more. In addition to hosting refugees in their own home, they have also provided funding as people are relocated around the globe.  This new aspect of their ministry has been supported by Christ Church. Through their response, Kevin and Rahela continue to demonstrate the love of Jesus to their community and witness transformation of lives even within a very difficult context.
