Summer Reading Group

Summer is a great time to grab a good book, find a shady spot, and enjoy some time reflecting on topics that make a difference in your life and the world around you. This is even better with a group of friends who are sharing in the experience. Once again, this summer we are offering a summer reading list with meet-ups at the end of each month in Pastor Eric Haskins’ backyard to share highlights and insights and maybe even make a few new friends.

Thursday | June 20 | 7:00–8:30 p.m.
The New Pilgrim's Progress, by Warren Wiersbe.

We will read and then discuss The New Pilgrim's Progress, by Warren Wiersbe. This month we will meet with others to share insights and highlights from one of the classic books of the Christian faith. The fee this month includes the cost of the book.

Upcoming Summer Studies

Thursday | July 25 | 7:00–8:30 p.m.
The Louder Song: Listening for hope in the Midst of Lament, by Aubrey Sampson

We will read The Louder Song: Listening for hope in the Midst of Lament, by Aubrey Sampson. Join others and discover how the pathway of lament through suffering leads you to a place of hope. This month does not include a fee, but participants will be asked to locate their own copy of the book.

Thursday | August 29 | 7:00–8:30 p.m.
Strengthening the Soul of Your Leadership, by Ruth Haley Barton

We will read Strengthening the Soul of Your Leadership, by Ruth Haley Barton. Together we will follow the story of Moses, assessing the condition of our soul and learning practices that will lead to a healthy & life-giving connection with God. The fee this month includes temporary access to the Seminary Now material for the book.
